From the Desk of the Mayor:
During my campaign for reelection as Council Member Place 1, I walked different neighborhoods in Uhland for a total of six (6) days. I had the opportunity to meet and speak with several residents and also realized that I could not get to everyone even in a small town as ours. Unaware of the opportunity to be appointed mayor of Uhland just nine (9) days later after winning my reelection as Council Member Place 1 but here I am! As a former council member, I realized that I could not possibly reach every constituent and now as mayor I realize how important it is to engage our community beyond council meetings.
As mayor, I am excited to announce that I will be hosting different yearly events to connect with our community at city hall for your families to feel safe and welcomed. I look forward to meeting you at these events and hope you can attend one or more. Here's a snapshot: 250th Celebration, Coffee with the Mayor, Veterans Day, Christmas tree decoration & lighting, and Move with the Mayor.

Our city has reached a new milestone with the elections behind us and new appointments to council and EDC vacancies we are ready to get to work for you. There are many things that are not as obvious that need to be addressed besides roads and parks but no less important. At times it may appear that nothing is being done or things are not moving fast for our taste but progress, good governance, follows the law and keeps good records to maintain full transparency.
I remain committed to serving every resident of Uhland with professionalism, transparency, and respect. My goal is not only to lead from the dais, but to remain visible and engaged within our neighborhoods and community events throughout the year.
Uhland is growing and evolving, and with that growth comes both opportunities and challenges. I believe we can move our city forward together through communication, accountability, and a shared vision for our future.
Thank you for the opportunity to serve as your Mayor. I look forward to working alongside the city administrator, council, staff, and our residents as we continue building a stronger and more connected Uhland.
Durante mi campaña de reelección como Miembro del Concejo Municipal Puesto 1, caminé por diferentes vecindarios de Uhland durante un total de seis (6) días. Tuve la oportunidad de conocer y hablar con varios residentes y también me di cuenta de que no podía llegar a todos, incluso en un pueblo tan pequeño como el nuestro. Sin saber que tan solo nuevo (9) días después de ganar mi reeleccion como Concejal Puesto 1, tendría la oportunidad de ser nombrada alcalde de Uhland, ¡aquí estoy! Como ex Miembro del Concejo Municipal, entendí que no era posible llegar a cada residente y ahora, como alcalde, comprendo aún más la importancia de involucrar a nuestra comunidad más allá de las reuniones del concejo.
Como alcalde, me complace anunciar que estaré organizando diferentes eventos anuales para conectar con nuestra comunidad en el ayuntamiento y para que sus familias se sientan seguras y bienvenidas. Espero poder conocerlos en estos eventos y deseo que puedan asistir a uno o más de ellos. Aquí les comparto un adelanto: Celebración del 250 Aniversario, Cafe con el Alcalde, Día de los Veteranos, decoración e iluminación del árbol de Navidad, y Muévete con el Alcalde.

Nuestra ciudad ha alcanzado un nuevo logro con las elecciones ya concluidas y los nuevos nombramientos al concejo y a las vacantes de la EDC; estamos listos para trabajar para ustedes. Hay muchas cosas que no son tan evidentes y que necesitan atención además de las calles y los parques, pero no por eso son menos importantes. A veces puede parecer que no se está haciendo nada o que las cosas no avanzan tan rápido como quisiéramos, pero el progreso y el buen gobierno siguen la ley y mantienen buenos registros para garantizar total transparencia.
Sigo comprometida a servir a cada residente de Uhland con profesionalismo, transparencia y respeto. Mi objetivo no es solamente dirigir desde el estrado, sino también mantenerme visible y comprometida dentro de nuestros vecindarios y eventos comunitarios durante todo el año.
Uhland está creciendo y evolucionando, y con ese crecimiento vienen tanto oportunidades como desafíos. Creo que podemos avanzar juntos como ciudad a través de la comunicación, la responsabilidad y una visión compartida para nuestro futuro.
